Google has confirmed when Pixel smartphones will begin receiving Android 16, outlining its update strategy ahead of a wider Android rollout.
Google stated that Pixel devices will be the first to receive the stable Android 16 release shortly after development concludes. Newer Pixel models will be prioritized, followed by older supported devices in staged updates.
The company also confirmed that Pixel phones will gain early access to Android 16’s latest security, privacy, and performance enhancements. Google emphasized that updates will be rolled out gradually to ensure stability across supported models.
Other Android manufacturers are expected to announce their Android 16 update plans later in the year.
